ADMISSIONS:

The Missouri Community College Association (MCCA) has followed the Department of High Education’s guidelines in establishing college readiness standards for students entering community colleges. Students who do not have an ACT reading score or have a score below 18 are required to take the COMPASS reading placement test, which determines competency in reading. Test scores must be within the previous two years of registration. Students not meeting readiness standards for admission into certain courses or programs may be enrolled in developmental courses to help them qualify.

First-time students will need to submit an application for admission and a $15 non-refundable application fee. (First-time students are applicants who have not completed any college-level course work since high school graduation.) Returning students will need to submit an application for admission but do not need to pay the $15 application fee. (Returning students are applicants who have previously attended Mineral Area College after graduating high school but have not attended MAC for one or more semesters.)

FINANCIAL AID:

Financial aid funds are disbursed approximately October 1st for the fall semester and March 1st for the spring semester and summer funds are disbursed approximately the 1st of July.
